A bit of context here: I am an art teacher at a local high school, and ordered these paints to improve my own painting skills for future lessons. (Up to now, I've specialized in dry and digital media, so paint is a weak point of mine.) I picked this up having already bought a set of brushes elsewhere, and it was intended solely for practice, not display, so I wasn't really concerned about the quality. I didn't spend much time on research, so I was expecting the included materials to be fairly low quality, given the price point.That said, I opened the package to find that not only is there a full range of 24 paints here, but both the included palette knife and the brushes are metal-capped with hardwood handles. The brush heads are double-crimped, so it's unlikely that the hair will be falling out (unlike the set my predecessor ordered for the school last year). There's also a sponge for removing excess paint/water.The paint tubes are made of metal, and I found that the paint comes out very evenly, which is more than I can say for the liquid watercolors I picked up a while ago. The variety of colors is about what you would expect from a set of this size, which is to say it's enough for any beginning painter and more than enough for someone who's willing to blend tones together on their own.I have, within the past two years, paid about what this set cost JUST a solid set of brushes. All told, the value here is beyond my expectations, given the price of admission. It's well worth checking out, if you're looking to practice with the medium.
