Amazing control of patio heater power

This is a great solution for ANY situation where you need to control the 240V power supply to the specifications of this device. I use it to control the power supply of a 6000W patio heater on a 30A 240V circuit. I control the 110V coil with a fan control countdown switch that you can use on the bathroom fan, but you can use almost any switch you normally use to control 110V, like Wi-Fi switches, programmable or just on off. I went through this because my teenage daughters turned on the mega heater and then forgot to turn it off which caused global warming! Now they are limited to 60, 30, 15, 10 and 5 minutes. Toggle countdown and then off! 😀 You can press the switch again and again if needed. I could install a contactor and switch in a double box, but I had to find one that worked. Some boxes have a flat bottom and that's what you want. It was tight connection with 10ga and 14ga wiring. I also connected a cool Baomain 240V 1" test light to the outside of the contactor so I can see if the heater is in the distance. The indicator light is LED and I used a tiny 20AWG wire to test it to connect it. Consumes little power and the tiny cable works safely. I would like to say that a small drawback is that when you first connect the contactor makes an obvious buzz, but the noise is narrowed to a fairly quiet one. He is not silent. It also comes with no connectors or instructions.I will buy it again for another project.

Pros
  • Contactors meet specifications for devices up to 600V AC
Cons
  • No instructions
