I have bought 14 of these discs in the last 8 months. To date, FIVE out of fourteen have failed. But when I say it failed, they haven't lost any data about them; They are simply locked and cannot be assembled. Called Sandisk and they tell me it's a "security feature" so my data won't be lost. How is it a "security feature" if I can't access my data? The only solution Sandisk offers is to replace the drive and I can send the 'failed' drive to a third party and pay $50 to have the data recovered. That is no solution! After careful investigation into when and how this happens, it appears to be caused by moving large blocks of files from one of the Sandisk drives to another location. At some point during the copy, an error message pops up saying the USB drive is no longer readable and disappears from my desktop. It doesn't help to move it, or try to mount it with the computer's disk utilities, or try to read it from a different USB port. It's locked and nothing can unlock it! DO NOT buy them if you plan to move files. I believe they get too hot which then triggers this "security feature" and results in not being able to access your data. I am extremely dissatisfied with this "security feature" and Sandisk's response to the issue. Will never buy Sandisk again!
