Hush & Hush's PlantYourDay Protein Powder (PYD) is certainly packaged as a designer nutritional product, but it also offers much more than an attractive presentation. I use the same product which comes in a 14.18 ounce container. Gram for gram, the single serving pack is slightly more expensive than the container, but the ingredients and nutritional value are the same. The good news is that it comes in convenient travel packs. In addition to the high price, the metallic label and the fine, silky powder, there are many useful high-quality ingredients. Most plant-based proteins make me gassy. Not PlantYourDay. Ingredients such as konjac and psyllium husk for fiber, Lactobacillus acidophilus as a probiotic for a good intestinal flora and a variety of alkalizing prebiotic superfoods and inulin for probiotic support facilitate digestion. There are other key ingredients like milk thistle and dandelion. Root for liver health, which in turn removes waste from the body (especially excess estrogen), seaweed for antioxidant benefits, rosehip for anti-aging, green tea extract for weight loss, and cocoa for flavor and antioxidant value. And that's just a small part of the ingredients listed on the label. Pea protein is typical of plant-based powders and I'm not usually a fan, but I take it. Pumpkin seed protein offers a good balance and alternative and has the added benefit of magnesium, which can support bone health, prevent migraines and reduce inflammation, and iron, which I'm lacking. Compared to popular brand whey proteins: 17 grams of protein per serving. for 33.5 grams of PYD. Compared to the On Gold Star Whey I took when I was an athletic rat, which has 24 grams of protein per 32-gram serving, it's not as dense. I believe this is a significant difference, so you can use it as a supplement or tonic instead of a full meal replacement when aiming for better bodybuilding or strength training macros. PYD has 110 calories, Gold Star has 120, so PYD wins. PYD carbs are 5 grams and On Gold Star Whey are 3 grams; Fat is 2 grams for PYD, 1.5 grams for On Gold Star. In the end, though, I choose PYD for its dense nutrient profile that includes vitamins and minerals and provides the best balance for the human body and its natural processes. You will find that this product will replace many of the supplements you may already be taking. Hush & Hush delivers both nutrition and taste. They also have many recipes on their website. As for the price, I believe it's a lot cheaper than going to the doctor or treating ailments. Prevention where it is. I will explore more from this brand.
