Three years with my Fluval 405 so I guess it's about time. He started rattling like crazy. Then the flow slowed. Then no flow at all. I found out where the knock was coming from, ordered this part. I took this opportunity to inspect and replace some parts that had deteriorated. It wasn't until the new parts arrived that I realized how bad the old parts were. His replacement helped immediately. The power is back. There's electricity again. The noise is gone. I wasn't expecting to have to replace this part but was so glad I found replacements (cheap) at Revain rather than buying a whole replacement filter. In fact, I've ordered a full set of these spares for the next time I might need them.
