When my brother-in-law was teaching how to row a small two-handed sailboat, he surprised me by jibing without a mainsheet. He was able to stay on board, but I had no luck. It was then that I learned how difficult it is to get on a small sailboat that is NOT lying on its side and there is no way to step on the keel. When I got home I ordered this and I'm happy to say that it only took a few seconds to "install". Landing again in a future knockdown or similar man overboard scenario will now be relatively easy. If you have a small boat, this is cheap insurance.
