Weak, difficult to get up.

Was hoping this would help us get up on our 2004 waveguide after swimming. Not so. It's very weak, twists when you try to climb it, and offers little support.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Minor issues

Ideal for emergency aid!

I will be keeping this in my PT 17'5 tracker for emergencies or swimming and will be back! Works well so far, good for the money and in store!

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Dear

Doesn't work well for me for docking and anchoring gear

I don't think this is a bad product. It will probably work fine on a "flat-sided" boat, but on my sailboat it would ripple under the boat if you tried to climb on it, making it useless.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Very expensive

Definitely helps getting on the jet ski

I gave it 4 stars because I would like to add a stronger ladder to the back of the watercraft. Getting off the back is useless when you're tall. So, this rope ladder is the best! It definitely helps to get on the jet ski.

Pros
  • Everything great!
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than others

Unfinished and not long enough

Good idea, bad execution. I wish this product had competition so I could get what I really wanted. I have a Yamaha Waverunner FX HO and the ladder doesn't hang low enough to be effective. It really only adds maybe 8 inches of depth in the water to the pitch already on the waveguide. It needs a different crossbar, a better Velcro design for attaching when not in use, and it needs to be rated for 1000 pounds, why bother with 300. I want it to be "overbuilt" to last.

It could save your life

When my brother-in-law was teaching how to row a small two-handed sailboat, he surprised me by jibing without a mainsheet. He was able to stay on board, but I had no luck. It was then that I learned how difficult it is to get on a small sailboat that is NOT lying on its side and there is no way to step on the keel. When I got home I ordered this and I'm happy to say that it only took a few seconds to "install". Landing again in a future knockdown or similar man overboard scenario will now beโ€ฆ

Not great but helps

I bought this for my PWC to help my 9 year old daughter when she accidentally falls into deep water. I mounted it on the rear tow eye. I took my daughter to a spot where the water was up to her chest and asked her to test it out for a while so she could learn how to use it. The ladder unrolls easily and the foam-wrapped rungs float. This makes landing a bit awkward at first because you have to put your foot on the bar and lower it underwater (not too bad). The most uncomfortable part is thatโ€ฆ
