Review on Bridgestone Blizzak Ice 225/60 R16 98S winter by Danuta Retmaska ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best I ever used, recommend it to everybody.

On these tires, I ran from 2022 to 3000 kilometers. There's not much, but what is there? Even after the Gislaved Nord Frost 100, I was taken aback by how confidently the rubber rows in both heavy and thick snow. It moves smoothly along a knurled track with some snow that has been partially compacted, but it only enters a rut briefly. On frozen and slightly icy asphalt, it moves boldly; you don't notice the tire, and you don't feel afraid. However, if you are driving on the same asphalt at around 0 degrees and the ice on the roads and hillocks has partially melted, it is already dangerous to drive here since the automobile no longer slows down as it should. During the winter, braking in front of other vehicles caused horrible situations three to four times. The tires are very soft, both on the sidewall and the tread, in terms of comfort. The tires didn't seem to make much noise at first, but as frost pounds on the pavement, the noise from the tires becomes increasingly audible. It is there but not very powerful. The oddity of the tread pattern is most likely what is causing this noise, as the tread's rubber compound cannot be noisy due to oakiness because the smallest rubber was produced, and the pattern itself lacks longitudinal directions in favor of being littered with transverse blocks for improved grip. Well, in cold weather, these transverse blocks are noisy. The tires are quite quiet in 0° to +5°C temperatures. However, when I changed from Velcro to summer Toyo tranpath MPZ, I discovered that summer ones would still be quieter. Regarding tire wear, I can confidently state that the front tires merely obliterated the ebb pimples on the rear tires, which were virtually completely unworn out. During my runs, it was obviously impossible to assess rubber's wear resistance, but I nonetheless took measurements: The balance of the front tires is 8.46mm. I made an average value based on five measurements. The balance of the back tires is 8.84mm. In addition to making an average value, I took six measurements. Finally, I'd like to mention a minor annoyance that may already be present in all contemporary tires. I noticed signs of tiny cracks in the longitudinal drainage grooves in one photograph.

Pros
  • + The ideal balance between a tire's softness and durability. + Good traction. + Quiet enough for an asymmetric tread pattern. + Manageability. Avoid swimming in the summer and avoid tanning in the winter. Both on the knurled and on the loose, they row effectively in the snow. + No noise while driving. + Good durability. + The protector effectively withstands nicks from small nails and glass punctures thanks to its soft sidewall and lovely sidewall pattern. There aren't many stones packed within the tread. On the previous winter tires, there were more stones.
Cons
  • After a season of use, tiny microcracks started to show up in the tread's depth. On the ice, it is undoubtedly frightful for them, but Velcro, this is expected. Worse than in the summer is the drainage. The water in the puddles seems to cause the car to slow down.

Different pros: It's expensive but the best tire in my opinion. With its cons: No. Well, except for the price . But the quality of the tires is up to par.
