The overall concept works very well. However, there is a lot of room for improvement. Firstly, I really wish they included screws to attach the plate to the engine block. Instead I had to put in new exhaust manifold studs, then dig up some washers (the plate isn't thick enough to easily fit the manifold nuts onto the studs), tighten them with the exhaust manifold nuts, remove the nuts (which will eventually pull the studs out as well) and then remove the nuts from the studs. Other drills had to be LH. The extraction tool didn't work for me. A mechanic friend of mine suggested an LH bit. Once I had a 1/8" pilot hole in the bolt, I used a 3/16" LH bit and it turned in like nothing happened. Make these improvements and you have a 5-star tool.
