Review on Get Google Pixel 4a - Unlocked Android Smartphone with 128 GB Storage & 24 Hour Battery Life in Barely Blue Color by Avut Lapnan ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Everything is fine, I liked the product, I bought it for a reason.

I chose this phone because of its relative compactness. I really don't like the modern fashion for "shovels". I have always used compact smartphones and it has always been convenient. Before that, there were HTC Desire (the very first), Samsung S4 mini, then Samsung A3 2022. The latter recently started to slow down decently in modern applications, and the battery was already holding a charge badly. I had to look for a replacement. And from more or less compact Android smartphones, either very weak budget models, or Google Pixel 4a, 4a 5G and 5. The last two did not suit the price. Only the Pixel 4a remains. If there was an opportunity to look at it live before buying, then most likely I would not buy it because of the quality of the screen. Everything would be fine, but this screen has one significant drawback - I have never seen such white color distortions! Although, all my previous smartphones also had AMOLED screens. Even if you look at the phone clearly perpendicular to the plane of the screen, then white distortions are already visible on the upper and lower edges - alternating waves of pink and green shades appear. None of the previous smartphones had this! When working in applications with a white background, this is quite a hindrance. It is also strange that out of the box there is no support for already familiar technologies - VoLTE, flash drives with the exFAT, NTFS file system, wireless connection to the TV via Miracast. All this (maybe, with the exception of NTFS, I don’t remember anymore) was on the Samsung A3 2022. Everything except Miracast was obtained with software modifications. But, nevertheless, it is strange that this is not out of the box. In general, if it were not for the screen quality and build quality, I would say that the phone is worth its money. And given the presence of such problems (and this does not look like a marriage of a particular sample), I think that the price is very high. But there is simply no other choice for lovers of compact modern androids, unfortunately.

Pros
  • High performance (everything is very smooth and fast), the battery lasts for a day even with active use (6 hours of screen operation), good sound quality from the speakers, good speaker volume (although it seems to me that everyone around you can hear the conversation perfectly) , good main camera, relatively compact, pure android without additional software.
Cons
  • Build quality (the case sometimes crackles when used), screen quality (at the slightest tilt, the white background turns into a rainbow, no matter how strange it sounds), there is no support for VoLTE, NTFS, exFAT file systems out of the box for flash drives connected via an adapter. Also, there is no support for wirelessly broadcasting a picture to a TV in the Miracast standard, only Chromecast, which my LG C6 TV, for example, does not support.
