Review on 🌀 Ridgid GIDDS-813340 41408 Power Spin AUTOFEED Drain Cleaner with Maxcore Cable and Bulb Drain Auger - Eliminate Stubborn Drain Clogs by Richard Sallah

We purchased this drain auger in October 2020 to try and unclog a clogged kitchen sink that our six foot handheld drain auger couldn't help with. We used a hand crank, not a drill. Although the trigger didn't seem to do absolutely anything (squeezing the trigger didn't matter if the cable came out or not - maybe the trigger was defective), we were desperate to clear the jam, so we routed the cable through our tube. . Although turning it manually was very difficult, it seemed to work - the water in the sink drain began to flow freely. We gladly postponed the drill to the future. If we had written a review back then it probably would have gotten 3 or 4 stars because while it was incredibly difficult to walk and the trigger didn't seem to work, it seemed to work to fix our leak. Fast forward to early December, and mysteriously the kitchen sink is slowing down again, so we pull the auger out again. This time it didn't start at all. We opened it up to examine and found that the cable was somehow twisted in at least two places, preventing it from moving. We were unable to coil a cable that was twisted where it was twisted itself. So we don't have $65, our sink is still clogged, and we're waiting for the plumber. We would give this drill 0 stars if we could.
