I am very happy with the size of these tubes and the price compared to some other large tubes you may find. The Kaytee CritterTrail tubes have a minimum inside diameter of about 1.5 inches, which was a bit small for our hamster. These tubes are only about 2 inches (much larger) and our hamster is much happier with them. The downside compared to Kaytee tubes is that steep tubes can be difficult to get up and down as the internal ridges are very shallow (hence the large interior in part). I put some moleskin on the bottom of some of the steep tubes which helped me climb them more easily. The Kaytee tubes will fit into sockets designed for these tubes, but they will be loose. These hoses are too big to fit Kaytee fittings. If you plan on using them together (which I didn't - I replaced them all), be aware that they won't fit perfectly.
