I have mystery snails and it's important to make sure they have enough calcium in the water so their shells don't crack, weaken or grow poorly. Please note: this does not absolve you from missing out on a good diet! These miracle bowls work great. Just toss it (no, they don't get eaten, they just release things into the water that help snails and shrimp have strong shells and external crustacean structures. I burn these things up quickly in all my tanks, but they're worth it to me been using them for a long time and never had any problems!HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
