They have the advantage of being able to bend a bit despite being heavy metal. I had to adjust them to work with my tank strainer cap. On the one hand, the clip works well, fits perfectly. However, because the screen cover is only slightly longer than the top of the tank on one end, the other clip doesn't quite grab the edge of the tank. This is mainly due to the poor fit of the screen lid, but I found it worth mentioning. Overall I'm happy with them, I only need 2 of them to hold the screen cover in place but I can buy 2 more to make the screen cover more secure. If you have a small tank, 10 gallons or less, you may only need 2 clamps. For larger tanks I recommend buying 4.
