All elements installed and connected according to the attached instructions. Even gave him his own Molex cable to power it. As soon as the computer was powered, the controller worked. Luckily, I still had the side panels removed and was able to touch the controller, which I felt was hot enough to burn my fingers. Quickly turn off the computer, turn off the power supply, and disconnect the main power line. When I removed the controller I found the molex power connector and the controller started to melt. Upon closer inspection, there is a semiconductor next to the Molex connector on the controller that looks like it's shorted out. I tested the Molex cable to the PSU with a few extra fans and had no issues.
