Review on Roman Carbide DC1842 Carbide Forstner Bit, 3/8-Inch by Jonathan Devarapalli

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Cuts holes like I need it to and does it quickly.

I've only used this for about 20 cuts. It's hands down way better than my ryobi HSS forstner bit that over heated and blued cutting holes in pine. This thing cuts cleaner and faster than that and is why I probably had the ryobi turn blue. dragging it along the cut surface to bore the holes.I dunno why some people say it's not a true forstner bit or that it doesn't cut true flat bottom holes. even if it doesn't, who cares? It's doing everything i need it to do and I'm yet to find where I need a hole any better than it produces. I'm pleased as of yet. If it dulls quickly I'll update

Pros
  • Hex shanks will not slip and fit 3/8-inch drill chucks
Cons
  • The product is not as durable as other carbide-tipped Forstner bits
