The docking station arrived, I installed it, everything went well. There was a moment on day one where he briefly turned off one of the monitors (it works with two HDMI monitors on a 16" MacBook Pro) and I should have been warned as the unit he replaced (another brand ) didn't work anymore, but it grew to the point where it did it every few minutes. Today is the third day with me and the last. Tonight the docking station decided it would be fun to do a full disconnect for a few seconds while I got the file off the external hard drive. Moments later it tried to do something similar for just one of the monitors and when I checked the external hard drive was gone from the desktop and I got a message telling me to properly eject the drive before disconnecting. Reconnecting the hard drive didn't work, as did connecting via the proprietary Apple connector. Disk Utility could not find the drive even though it found the controller. So one of my external backup drives is now dead and I need to start locating both contents and see if it can be fixed. The drive costs more than the dock, so it's really bad value for money. The quality of the material is clearly lacking as it can't do what it very clearly says it can, ie it's not commercial quality. So, tomorrow morning I'm going back to the Amazon and looking for something else. I strongly advise you to avoid this product and possibly the entire brand. I'm worried because I have a similar docking station from the same manufacturer (MOKiN) in my office and I hope I don't have similar problems. In fact I will avoid connecting external drives through this device and if there are any problems I will return it too.
