Review on 🔍 McMurdo FAST FIND 220 PLB: Ultimate Personal Locator Beacon (45016) by Tiger Carpani

I would like to give this device 5 stars for peace of mind or no stars for bad battery, bottom line I have this PLB im Bought January 2015. Never used although I have carried it around on my Harley and kayak. Knowing that help was as far away as my jacket was comforting. It's December 2016 and when I click the test button nothing happens. Do I have a dead battery (less than a year later) or do I have a dead PLB? Finding a service center is a bit of a hassle, but after some research on the internet I found a place to find out. An email was received the next morning listing various service centers. A few calls and I have a place to send my killed PLB (220) to duty. If the PLB is dead it should be under warranty, if it's a battery it can be replaced for about $125. That's right, $125 for a year-long battery! It costs about $85 for this battery and the rest is labor and shipping. Note that they estimate a battery life of 6 years! Mine didn't make it past 11 months. After this is completed I will either edit it or add an additional rating.
