It cannot be transported on passenger planes, neither as check-in nor as hand luggage. Must be shipped to destination on time as dangerous goods. It should be mentioned at the top of the product description on the internet. Where it says it can be used worldwide, it should also say "BUT, it cannot be transported by air and must be transported as dangerous goods." . It's only mentioned in the fine print at the end of the instructions. This means that the product is practically useless for…

This is my backcountry safety blanket

I travel alone. i need this thing I've had it for almost three years now and the battery is still fully charged. I can't tell you how well or if it works. You can only use it once. The two simple tests you ran show that it works, so I'm taking it for granted. It's well built, small, waterproof and lightweight, all important qualities for a hiker. If I'm lucky, I'll leave the thing in my backpack until the battery dies in a few years, and then I'll throw it away and buy another. When my luck…

A must for outdoors!

What I like: peace of mind! As an elderly person traveling alone, it costs me money to know that I don't always have to pay attention to mobile phone reception. Likewise; no service fees, so no extra bills to juggle! What I do not like; The instructions aren't that clear in my opinion, and no YouTube videos helped. I finally managed to get good test readings and make sure the battery and 2 frequencies are confirmed. Registering with NOAA takes a few minutes but is fairly easy. Overall excellent

  • Stable test results

Please buy for yourself or a loved one

There are no monthly fees for this personal locator. Whether you're a camper, backpacker, hunter, lumberjack or going anywhere cell phone coverage is limited, this could save your life. If you're in your car and there's a big storm going on etc. and you need help, it could save your life. Many people died because they were injured and could not get help. Watch Missing 411 on YouTube. I'm a single mom clearing land deep in the woods and saving up until I could buy it. It stays tied to my belt…

Good tight packaging suitable for GPS tracker

First of all I would like to say that I have never activated the quick search in an emergency. I tested it and it worked great. Actually, I now have both ACR and Fast Find. Wife took the ACR for our 21 foot whaler. I recently bought a Fast Find for my small sailboat. I often go to sea alone and tie my Fast Find to my harness. I like Fast Find more than ACR for one simple reason - it's smaller. If I go overboard I want my outfit to be on me and not in my backpack. The fact that it comes with a…

McMurdo PLB is handy and compact. I hope I never need it

I bought a McMurdo FastFind 200 because I often sail my sailboat alone and go long distances. The cost of plbs has come down so much I figured it wasn't a problem. There seem to be two main competitors in this market: McMurdo and ACR. Your products are very similar and will likely work just as well. I chose the McMurdo because I love the idea of a soft neoprene floatation sleeve that can be removed for out of water activities. The ACR has a hard plastic floating back that is permanently…

I would like to give this device 5 stars for peace of mind

I would like to give this device 5 stars for peace of mind or no stars for bad battery, bottom line I have this PLB im Bought January 2015. Never used although I have carried it around on my Harley and kayak. Knowing that help was as far away as my jacket was comforting. It's December 2016 and when I click the test button nothing happens. Do I have a dead battery (less than a year later) or do I have a dead PLB? Finding a service center is a bit of a hassle, but after some research on the…
