We bought this for child #5 when he was two and a half years old. I hesitated because he was young and I imagined many disappointments, but I couldn't think of anything else to buy a fifth child for Christmas. Holy cow. I was very wrong, because he learned to drive fast, steer and sit while climbing so he could roll on the grass. I had to buy this for baby #1 so all the kids can play with it for many years. There are things I think like that. He was with us for almost a year before his 11 year old very tall cousin came and quickly broke it (all my kids know it's a little kid's toy! It looks like a little kid's toy!). I bought another one for him and it was strong. Now he is almost four years old and still drives it almost every day. Excellent purchase.
