Many excellent, but not easy to install! Detailed explanation

Installed in my 2014 BMW X3 28i. Looks great, but it's not easy. For starters, the rear BMW badge doesn't come off, aside from the silver mount. Place painter's tape around the painted surface and pry off the entire silver assembly. My assembly came off fairly easily with no damage. The BMW emblem protrudes from the inside. This is where it gets interesting and you need confidence. First you need to completely remove the interior trim of the tailgate. There are two hidden screws in each handle, so be careful. On the outside, at 6 o'clock, I had to drill a hole through the black plastic bracket that holds the silver knot to the car. This hole also had to go through the metal back panel of the sunroof to allow the wires to be cut into the license plate light. Yes, I was nervous, but you have to walk slowly and look in the tailgate before you drill. The wire goes through the hole and all the way into the tailgate area. Wipe everything with alcohol. Reattach the silver assembly to the black bracket without the BMW badge. Then stick the round light on the black bracket, it will fit very well. Now the BMW logo is at the top of the glowing circle. The illuminated circle does not perfectly match the BMW emblem. The curve is flat and the BMW emblem is concave. You will need to create the center of the emblem with double sided tape and make sure the tape reaches the edges before attaching. You can then just click on the light license plate with the T key (Walmart).
