Review on PROSTORMER Soldering Station Temperature Control and Desoldering Tool: Enhanced Performance for Precision Soldering by Dustin Lannan

The iron tips are of very poor quality.

Station I had less than a week and given the good training of the hot air side it has been going well so far. However, I used the iron for a total of several hours and found that the tip had almost completely dissolved. I have had another iron with the same tip for over 15 years and have never had a problem. This literally melted away in hours of use. I just used a damp sponge and rosin paste flux which shouldn't damage the tip in any way. I'm aware that tip breaks aren't all that rare, but the fact that they resolve so incredibly quickly to such an extent speaks volumes. amounts of quality. I would have posted a photo, but I was already having to try to reshape the peak when it turned into a jagged outcrop. Iron. Maybe the tip I started with was badly scratched down to the copper core from the start and I just didn't notice, but that's no good either. Be warned, the hot air worked great, but the spikes on the iron were incredibly frustrating. I think the thing was cheap for some reason and you get what you pay for. Edit: That wasn't a coincidence, all the advice is terrible. I already ruined the second beveled tip with a damp sponge, rosin flux and desoldering wick in about 30 minutes of use. In the slope was now a huge crater that was getting deeper and deeper. I also ordered some original Hakko nozzles, the T18 series for FX-888 and FX-8801 also fits 900M and is perfect for this iron.
