Since these shoes are unisex, it is difficult to make one shoe suitable for both men and women. Women's feet are usually narrower than men's feet. That doesn't apply to me; my legs are wide But this shoe had extra length at the toe, which I attribute to trying to fit both genders in one shoe. I found these shoes good enough for everyday wear. I understand most people will enjoy wearing them without socks. I've tried them both ways and prefer socks unless I'm on the water. Rubber construction and ventilation openings make these great boat shoes!
