I love the feel of these big chunky tiles. And I like the set because there are no Arabic numerals on the tiles (except seasons and flowers). And I like a real Chinese set with ideograms of honor and fortune instead of western-style red and green dragons. I guess I just like to pretend I'm a veteran Chinese player and not the American amateur that I am. You will learn Chinese characters quickly. You don't need frames. The tiles fit well. But if I could find coasters for these large tiles, I would only buy them because I like playing with coasters and these tiles are too big for my standard size coasters. The aluminum body feels solid. However, since it's so heavy when assembled, I wouldn't carry it by the handle just in case. I wish there were trays for tiles. And I wish there were four empty spaces instead of two so we can use them as age tiles or white dragons as westerners would say. We can't use this set with our standard size 27" garbage mat because the tiles are too big for the mat. But still I like this set and have to give 5 stars.
