When we travel with children, my wife usually takes a separate small kitchen knife and a fruit peeler (to cut and slice apples for the children), but sometimes it was a nuisance when we worked on it had to think about packing two separate items from the kitchen drawer for our trip. Then I stumbled across this 2 piece stainless steel LCPCX peeler and fruit knife combo set that seems to save time. The knife is uncomfortable to hold due to the lack of a bolster and needs to be wider, so some care and caution is needed in holding and using it. One downside (and it's a design issue): when the knife is put back into the peeler's storage slot, it's unreliable and falls off easily. You need to pin it together and secure with a rubber band. Overall I wouldn't use this knife for everyday kitchen use but for travel and convenience it's fit for purpose and I would recommend it for that.
