I purchased this Lion Ev-R-Round Perfect Circle Cutter to cut fabric as advertised and on the cardboard back of the cutter. fabrics and the blade is too small to cut even cotton fabrics. The fabric may be thin enough to be cut, but I doubt she can cut all the way through. The ad and packaging state that it can cut from 3/4" to 6 3/4". Based on the cutter's size and where the cuts should be, I can't imagine how he could cut 3/4 inch. The 2+ inch hard plastic base allows for hand rotation with the blade. narrower than the 3/4" listed. If you could remove the base (there are no instructions for that), you would lose the swivel. There are instructions included with the cutter, but the cutter does not even work on cotton. The blade has a rubber coating. There are no instructions on how to remove it. If you remove it, the way it works makes it a dangerous tool, as you could seriously cut yourself with a bare blade. The instructions do not show how to remove the rubber cap. Eventually, you will have to, yourself when the cutter is working correctly with the fabric, choose carefully on which flat surface you want to pierce the center of the needle and use a razor to cut the circle.The surface must be porous to accommodate the sharp center of the needle you are pressing on , and I quickly realized that if the blade worked and was long enough, it would also cut into my expensive carpet.
