Review on SmartThings 8ZA A806ST πŸ”Œ Q4R: Efficient and Compatible Connected Device by Joseph Stone

Works perfectly. at Outlets & Accessories

I have SmartThings and Hue. Hue came first, then I added SmartThings later when I realized it was more expensive. The SmartThings bulb is cheaper, which is great. It only comes in one package, which is disappointing. It would be great to have 4 packs at a discount or even just for convenience. The lamp pairing is awesome. You screw a lightbulb into Hue and use the app to look for it. That's fine, but with SmartThings you screw it in and scan the barcode with the app. This is great when adding multiple lights to multiple rooms. You can screw them all on and, from one convenient place, scan the barcode for each one and find out which bulb you're matching. Brightness is ok. It's on par with Hugh. However, I would like it to be brighter. In large rooms it seems that there is not enough light. I used a lot of 100W bulbs back then. I miss that brightness. Next comes the color temperature. These are warm bulbs like the standard shade. However, Hue has a different bulb that gives warm or cool white light. It's expensive, but I prefer cool white. I wish SmartThings had a cool white lightbulb. I don't even need it warm. When the lights are turned on or off, they don't fade in and out like they do with Hue. i like it more There's a delay while Alexa processes the command (just like Hue), but the light will turn on at full brightness or the last setting. Like I said, I don't have SmartThings while Hue does, but the other thing I noticed is that they're always online. I'm having trouble with Hue bulbs that Alexa can't access. If this changes as my SmartThings system grows, I will update this review. For now I'm not getting rid of Hue, just using it with what it has today or what SmartThings doesn't have, like colored lights. For all standard lighting I use SmartThings for all new additions.

Pros
  • Save time and money: switch the light on/off or dim it directly from your smartphone or tablet; Requires SmartThings Hub, SmartThings Wifi, or a compatible device
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other options
