TLDR: This tool was completely ineffective on my prism acrylic light panels. Details: I read the negative reviews and realized that these people don't know how to use this tool. I know how to use it, and I know it's not meant to cut all the way through, but rather to score a sheet of plastic so I can carefully pry it off. and it wasn't cut anywhere near deep enough for me to carefully snap off the extra piece. I ended up using a hacksaw blade to cut along the score line I made with this tool. This method took a while, but it worked really well, but obviously not in the way I expected to accomplish this task. Maybe the acrylic sheet I cut out was too thick for this tool? The embossed prismatic surface is quite hard and slightly increases the thickness of the slab. Conclusion: I would not recommend this tool for cutting prismatic light sheets. But it can be good for other materials.
