I have 2 of these installed in my cars to monitor parasitic losses and battery charge mode. Both are accurate to within 2% compared to a Fluke DMM. Good enough for reliable performance. Both survive the rigors of everyday driving. They are easy to install in a conventional layout with the battery at the front. On my BMW, the battery is mounted in the trunk and the charge/jump points are under the hood. Putting it under the hood took a little creativity, but that's okay. Connecting to a real battery would be a challenge given the BMW setup. I'm an engineer, so this kind of data monitoring is very useful for me. It's as good as a person looking at the data and making decisions based on it. It's no use alone. Not for everyone, very useful for those who understand the car's expected electrical behavior.
