Soft metal. Curved by hand. Missing parts. The powder coating has filled some of the threaded holes. The support angle that goes through the seat is turned off. I had to disassemble, bend, reassemble. Generally . Unsatisfied. Very dissatisfied Not made in America, assembled in China in a spares box. Easy return. Nice hole in my chair
