Gorgeous crown (needs a little tweaking)

This crown is just gorgeous. It needs some tweaking to be usable, but it's so beautiful at such a reasonable price that I can't take a single star off. I don't even think my photos convey how beautiful this crown is live and how sparkling it is. I can't get the crown to stay in place with the supplied rivets (or even the big ones I already had). I put the hair clip through the loop at the base of the crown and then pin it to my hair and the hair clip slides everywhere and doesn't hold the crown in place. It is very inconvenient to put on hairpins yourself, and they will not work. (See my solution below.) 2. The metal hinges at the base, as well as the crown itself, rest a little against the scalp. It's just a little uncomfortable at first, but I plan to wear it all day during Renaissance Festival season and it won't be long before it becomes uncomfortable. (See my solution below.) 3. One of the rhinestones came out very early. Luckily I found it on my counter and taped it back on. I have to be very careful with this crown - I can't just toss it in my gym bag with the rest of my suit. I put a bundle of tissue paper in the crown box to protect it when traveling.4. The crown is almost perfectly round, but it is NOT the shape of my head. I had to squeeze the crown a bit to make it more oval to fit my head properly. Luckily that wasn't a problem, the metal was properly bent and didn't break, didn't chip, etc. Solution for #1 and 2: I bought a 3mm satin cord (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product /B005DMY3JE). There are four cord colors in this pack, one of which exactly matches the "gold" of the crown. I fed this cord through the front loop at the crown and threaded it through a few times. I then parted it each way and passed the cord through the two side loops a couple of times. Then I connected the two cords at the back and threaded them through the back loop. (See photos in this review.) Wrapping the cord around each of the loops softens them so they don't dig into your scalp. Some parts of the crown (the decorative part that people see) can still pinch you, so you may need to be more creative with the cord. Once the cord has gone through all four loops, I tie my hair into a bun with a rubber band. / Pearl Comb. You can also use a hair tie or whatever you usually use to tie your hair if it's tight. I then use the two ends of the cord to tie a topknot so the back end of the crown can't move around much. There may be some wiggle room, but it shouldn't decrease significantly as you move your head. Hair front left and front right. This will prevent the crown from slipping backwards or to either side. You can't move your head like a bat, but I was able to walk around the house and go about my normal activities for a couple of hours without discomfort and it was still securely in place. The satin lace matches the crown and the bobby pins match my hair (sort of) so it's not too distracting or showy, which I did. That. Unfortunately, that simply cannot be the case. And like I said, this crown is AMAZING in person, so I can't take a single star off for being 'uncomfortable'. Especially for under $25.
