I am a longtime iMAC user and have used OWC Ram on a 2010 i7 iMAC in the past with great results. I recently had a 2017 i7 27" received. iMAC and ordered and installed 2 16 GB OWC RAM on standard Apple 8 GB RAM. When first installed iMac wouldn't boot, but after changing slot position everything was fine, only 40GB (OWC and Apple RAM). After a few weeks the iMAC wouldn't start and while I was working with Apple Support on the phone they asked me to bring my iMac in for repair. At first Apple thought the logic board was defective, but then found the OWC RAM was incompatible and removed it, and the iMAC boots and runs fine for 8GB of RAM. At home, I called OWC tech support and they suggested that more than 90% of their RAM issues were due to dirty touchpoints. I followed the contact point cleaning suggestion and installed the OWC RAM in several different slots along with the Apple RAM. In no case has the iMAC booted with OWC installed using Apple RAM. Since my return window was a few days away, I decided to return the OWC storage for a refund (UPS). WORKS FOR LONGER AND MULTIPLE WEEKS BECAUSE THE IMPROVED APP LOAD TIME WITH EXTRA RAM WAS GREAT.
