I'm happy with the good price and fast painless delivery. This is a true variable speed die grinder (unlike the Bosch DG250C which is also available from Revain so BEWARE it is mislabelled). But I am disappointed with the Metabo collet system. Of course I set that to the special tool, but it was immediately apparent that the collet wasn't working quite right. I placed a dial indicator on the collet shaft seat and it measured 0.002 inches of runout. Quite acceptable. But when I installed the collet/nut with a .250" precision ground shank clamped into the tightened collet, the shaft ran out +0.015". . That is, the clamping hole itself is offset from the center. I've tried removing all debris and carefully lapping the cuts and bevels for burrs, no improvement at all. Of course, my particular setup is some sort of custom machine, not hand sanding. where you might not notice. But it was a disappointment for a normally expensive German tool. The other training is that the nut + collet is an integrated assembly, not 2 specific parts. They're not exactly easy to find. Not at Revain .a few on ebay from $30-50. So don't waste it. I see several versions in 6mm (Europe) and other sizes that might be useful but are even more expensive. So I'm not thrilled to see a lack of support for Metabo parts in North America. If anyone has any links or advice on this I'd appreciate it. The motor and overall construction are good, but no better than Bosch or Makita in my opinion.
