Advertised for 18 sheet cross section. That's true, but the cutting motor slows down with so many leaves. A dozen regular (for me) sheets of paper work better. Adding more sheets slows the shredding speed, so you need to find the optimal amount of sheet feed depending on the type of paper you're shredding - it's a trade-off between speed and volume. Also, there are no instructions on what/when/how to lubricate cutters, just a note not to use aerosol spray (lubricant). So I bought a bottle of Fellowes shredder lube and it turned out to be regular canola (vegetable) oil. My previous Fellowes guide to chopping cross cuts recommended greasing after each dump, so I plan on doing that with this Wolverine unit. Much quieter than my previous Fellowes shredder which lasted 11 years.
