This torch gets very hot, which is good for soldering copper water pipes. I'm a plumber by trade, but this thing hurt me a few times. Flew straight into the trash after the third time. The hand does not stay in place properly. Desoldering a conductor is extremely dangerous. I tried to tighten the nut did not help. If you buy this, pay close attention. I personally recommend that you save your money and buy a flashlight that won't burn you if you take your eyes off it for even a second. You get what you unfortunately pay for.
