Review on Fluval ClearMax Phosphate Remover: 100g Nylon Bags, 3-Pack, A1348 for Crystal Clear Aquariums by Christa Baldwin

After hours of installing this in my canister filters I noticed my Mbuna started flashing which they rarely, very rarely do. I went ahead and ran water parameter tests with an API test kit and my carbonated hardness dropped from just over 180ppm to 40ppm so my pH dropped as well. I took out the Fluval Clearmax and re-buffered the water with the correct Seachem products and my parameters are now back to normal with no blinking. I was actually scared, but I'm glad I was able to take care of it. Can't say I haven't tried it, Clearmax looks like an effective product but definitely NOT for African cichlids.
