MANDATORY PRODUCT! best in category Fish & Aquatic Pets

One of my favorite aquarium products! I used to have to clean the aquarium once a week, now once a month. The water in the tank always stays clean and I've never had any problems with NO2 or NO3!

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Price

Works great for fish and aquatic animals

I use these in one of the media boxes on my Fluval 307 and it added an extra layer of filtering which keeps my aquarium cleaner for longer. Instead of changing the water every 4 days, I can now do it a full week before cleaning. I usually get 3 good water changes out of them. I could last a month but my fish are bigger and poop a little more than when they were smaller.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Nothing here

Good product! suitable for fish and aquatic animals

I had a terrible time with my aquarium. I have a fancy goldfish that has a pituitary problem and has grown to almost 2 pounds. With Fluval 405 it's 45g and I can't keep the ammonia down and the tank looks terrible. I received this product as a last try. I put it on and forced myself to leave everything alone. The tank started clearing almost immediately and after two days it was crystal clear. So far I have 2 weeks and everyone is happy. I will 100% continue to use it.

Pros
  • the best
Cons
  • big and bulky

It works as advertised see my full review

This product does not remove nitrates which has disappointed some reviewers, does not kill fish when used properly and rinsed before use. As for baby bottles that are buffered with chemicals and claim to have broken because of this product, no. I use this to remove phosphate in 2 125g reef tanks, it works great for the price. If it kills fish and what doesn't I would say these are complete ABS tanks and the most delicate aquarium setup you can have. So buy this phosphate remover product and…

Do not use for African cichlids Mbuna

After hours of installing this in my canister filters I noticed my Mbuna started flashing which they rarely, very rarely do. I went ahead and ran water parameter tests with an API test kit and my carbonated hardness dropped from just over 180ppm to 40ppm so my pH dropped as well. I took out the Fluval Clearmax and re-buffered the water with the correct Seachem products and my parameters are now back to normal with no blinking. I was actually scared, but I'm glad I was able to take care of it…

Pros
  • Alright!
Cons
  • The list will be long.

Good product, fairly durable

As advertised this filter makes the water really crystal clear. As a beginner in aquariums, I still have some "problems" to deal with, such as: B. high nitrate levels and little algae growth. However, you will NEVER realize that I have these problems by looking at the tank. The water is crystal clear. The only downside is that these cases are a bit large and difficult to fit into some of the media bays. For my 25 gallons of 6 fish with a grainy black substrate (which can often cloud the water)…

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Deadly! ☠⚰☣ - Fish and Aquatic Animals

I've dabbled in bacterial seeding and worked patiently to rebuild my aquarium. I often check the water to make sure my fish friends are safe to restore balance. I'm almost back to normal but the aquarium is still as crystal clear as before. I was so excited to read the reviews and see that this product works. I put it in a filter before going to work and returned home after 11 hours and all but 2 of my 7 fish ended up belly up in the tank! I was supposed to take a picture but I was just so…

Pros
  • Easy Setup
Cons
  • Good, but not great
