I had one for many years until the cold broke it. Then another frost broke the replacement so I bought another brand that was more durable. It hasn't even been 2 years since it started leaking. I changed tires but to no avail. It seems to be a general problem. I hooked up this guy and it works great with no leaks. The moral of this story is not only to shut off the water in the riser when frost approaches, but also to DRAIN the valve using small nipples on the side (screwdriver slot and plastic plug). You don't want to keep replacing them, and you don't want ice building up cracking the valve body.
