Update: 8 hours later this "ice" bottle still contains ice water even though there is no ice. The Big Chill Bottle contains water at room temperature. So yes, 4 times colder sounds reasonable. If having ice cold water at night is important, this is the bottle for you. We have several bottles of Camelbak "Big Chill" and one of the bottles of "Ice" which claims to be "4 times colder!". They all share the same cap, valve, and basic structure. Presumably "4 times colder" has more insulation. All bottles feel slightly cooler when filled with ice, and the Ice model feels slightly less cool to the touch than the Big Chill, which should mean slightly longer ice life. So if ice water is more important to you than drinking ice water, your solution is obvious: choose a steel thermos. ;-) Actually, insulated camelbak stainless steel bottles with bite valves are great for storing ice overnight if you're digging for bite valves. For everyone else I would say that aesthetics, price and delivery add up to more than a few minutes. Ice. This type of bottle is much better than having to unscrew the cap of a polycarbonate bottle with every sip. We use them around the house, when digging in the garden etc, so we can't talk about cycling considerations. They fit into our bicycle cages, that's all we know.
