Review on Easy-to-Program Key with Remote Fob Buttons for Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep Vehicles - Simple Key Programmer (3-Button Key Fob: Lock, Unlock, Panic) by Dan Buycks

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The devil is in the details.

tldr; You need a keyless fob if you want a new keyless fob, otherwise it won't magically work. So the idea here is basically to be able to clone the key you already have and bypass dealers and locksmiths. 1.) You'll have to cut the blank, okay, a few bucks, no big deal. After cutting, use your existing key, follow the instructions, and essentially clone your key. Now 2 parts have to be programmed. Transponder (chip for deactivating the anti-theft device) and RKE (Keyless Entry). Now the instructions say that even if your existing key fob doesn't work (basically your keyless entry is broken), it still gives you a working keyless piece. So when I bought a cheap Avenger for my kid, it came with an unbranded key with no fob (Dodge put it in the key). I managed to clone the transponder and get a key that opens the door manually and also starts the car. So technically the system worked. However, I don't have the keyless part and customer service has confirmed that if my 'existing key' doesn't have it, it won't work with the new key. They didn't know if the dealer or locksmith would be able to "complete" the programming of the keyless part or not. My friend, an ASE Gold certified Jeep mechanic, wasn't sure either, but was impressed with the kit. I've called and emailed someone from their company (they also have field technicians and ironically they're based in my hometown) so far I haven't had a response from any technician or dispatcher but I have an open application number. .I will update if anything amazing happens,

Pros
  • Annual trial period
Cons
  • The list will be long.
