Definitely not for construction or gardening. The packaging advertises Chinese military police or something similar. The fingertips are very slippery and tear at the seam after about 4 days of work in the sawmill. They were very tight and it took about a day to loosen them up a bit. They definitely protect against knives because I cut myself with a utility knife. Not even torn, so it's good in this part. Although they would be very useful for battles. The joints are tough and I've been punching through a piece of drywall in my job, went through with no pain. "Air holes" are useless. I blew them through and almost nothing. But there is air between the fingers. Velcro is excellent. It's hard to slip as I have to write tickets.
