I bought this sisal rope to replace the rope on my cat's scratching post. The post itself was in excellent condition, so it made sense to save money by simply "replacing" the rope rather than replacing the entire post. After removing the old rope, I began wrapping this new rope around the base of the post and driving a nail through the end of the rope to the post to hold it in place. As I wrapped the rope around the pole, I made sure to pull and wrap the rope tightly and eliminate any gaps. Another nail at the top holds the rope in place. The claw looks like new!
