They simply fit into a spring-loaded chuck without tightening the punch. The letters stand for Slotted Drive System. They are designed for continuous drilling in concrete. These bits are better for a hammer. They fit on a normal drill chuck, but need to be tightened more frequently due to vibration. Drill America has been around since 1927 and offers a full line of cutting tools. These bits are made on German-Swiss machines with a Japanese tip. They appear to be strong and durable pieces that should last a long time. It is unclear where these bits are made. Time will tell how long they really last.
