Review on Cuisinart SS-700 Single Serve Coffee Maker, Silver NO LONGER PRODUCED BY MANUFACTURER by Amanda Edwardz

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Lightly gassed but good car (instructions to remove the air bubbles inside)

I give Cuisinart Keurig five stars but before you take it at face value please read on. When I opened this device I was SO excited. I've never owned a Keurig and this device promised to give me access to every cup I could use and make everything really easy. <3 <3 <3 I was in love. In the beginning it was cool. No problem, but I noticed a leak on my gauge behind the unit. Then everything started to go sideways for me. Suddenly, Keurig stopped making coffee, made a lot of horrible noises, but there was no coffee. Or he poured less coffee than I ordered. Sometimes he even gave me twice as much as I wanted. Days and days and days of fighting this thing made me want to send it back to Revane. Until I got lucky with something incredibly tiny and incredibly stupid that I missed - Kerig had air bubbles in the line. Apparently, this is a major design flaw of these devices. sooo I learned that if I tilted the Keurig backwards (just once, gently) I could move the air bubble to where it came out and we were back to normal. I also learned that installing a water tank requires very careful touching to prevent it from leaking. After solving these two issues, we've been running smoothly for a couple of weeks now. I love this machine and now that I can use it properly and understand its functions it makes my everyday life so much easier. If you are currently experiencing new issues with Keurig, I would suggest the following actions: If you see water leaking anywhere around the device. Step 2: Tilt the entire device backwards about 30 degrees, making sure there are no more air bubbles. Step 3: Run a rinse cycle to see if the air bubbles have moved (it disperses water and air). Step 4: If it's still stubborn, occasionally opening the reservoir lid and squeezing the small clear angle tube will pressurize the device enough to force air out. Hold the tube for a few seconds while performing a non-cup cycle. If you release it, the air will escape, so don't hold it for long. Repeat several times if necessary if air leaks. When I received this machine I was sure it was broken. But it wasn't that, it was just gas. So if you pay close attention, don't shake it too much, and learn how to bleed the air out of the system, it will work just fine. Also, I no longer remove the reservoir for regular refills, instead I fill it up with water while it's still installed.

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • Infinitely sluggish
