Economical solar powered garland lamp.

These flower garlands are powered by a small solar cell and are quite pretty to look at and good value for money (considering their price). Rear, one for on/off and one for setting blinking or steady on. The solar module box is attached to a plastic rod on the ground. The length of the cable from this box to the 1st LED is about 4 feet. The electrical black wires are quite thick, I think around 22 gauge. Each LED is set in a miniature colored plastic flower. Let's talk about the pros and cons of this powerful light. Pros: - LEDs are fairly bright. - Assembly is simple and straightforward. each with its own solar box and earth rod. - It's powered by the sun, so it's green. Cons: - The total length of each string is 20-22 feet, so I have to double it for 1 of my big yards. Bush-The manual says each solar cell charges a small 400mAh battery. So, even though I live in sunny Southern California, when the sun hits the solar fields from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (after which the sun is behind the hill with sunset around 4:45 p.m.), in steady-on mode, I get 5 hours ( from 17:00 to 22:00). After that, the LEDs get pretty dim and go out after 6 hours. When switching to flash mode, the LEDs remain lit after 9 hours (from 5:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.). Even on a cloudy day I still get the same results. Your mileage in, say, New Jersey will definitely be different. I believe the main limitation is the capacity of the battery inside. Each LED has a certain current draw multiplied by the number of LEDs, and you basically get X hours of lighting for a given battery. They use a rechargeable 400mAh AA battery inside. Next year I'm going to switch to a higher capacity Ni-Mh AA battery (they're cheap), say 2100mAh, and that should greatly increase the time these LEDs can stay on, hopefully until dawn (when the solar panel can charge them fully). Capacity).

Pros
  • Handy item
Cons
  • So far so good
