I live in a place where thunderstorms are frequent. Despite having a new, well-grounded house, whole-house surge protectors on my electrical panel, and high-end surge protectors for all my devices, I've dealt with lightning strikes and power surges for years. My entire LAN and components were connected to my modem via an external coaxial cable and via a wired LAN. I had to replace several expensive components with the coax cable due to overvoltage. I bought this Tupavco Protector based on claims that it doesn't slow down my internet speed and protects against power surges in my home system. I went to the hardware store, bought a high voltage ground wire, connected it to the protector's ground wire, made sure the protector was properly grounded, and connected the CAT-5 wires to my cable modem. Fantastic results! After several lightning strikes, power outages and surges, I had no problems. In fact, my components recover faster after a power outage. I checked my intention speed and Protector didn't affect my internet speed. I am very satisfied with this product.
