Review on 📱 Logitech Harmony 880: Feature-packed Universal Remote Control (Discontinued Edition) by Kara Collins

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Great remote control, but unfortunately discontinued!

I have had 3 of these in the last 8 years and love them but unfortunately they are no longer made. You can still buy "new ones" but I'm unlucky with it sometimes because in the electronic age some keys "double tap". If you're unfamiliar with Logitech remotes, they're great. There is a program that you download onto your computer, then enter the items you have by manufacturer and model number. It takes a little while, but it's worth it. You then set up events like "watch TV" by answering questions like "change channels on your TV or cable TV" and "adjust the volume on your soundbar or TV." Then you connect the remote and it programs events for it. Different events can be "watch TV", "watch DVD" or "play game". Then, when you press the Watch TV button, the remote will turn on your TV, cable box, surround sound system, and whatever other equipment you need, and make any input or output adjustments you need. Then when you click View DVD, the TV stays on, but the cable box turns off and the DVD player turns on. Logitech definitely makes the best universal remote, but again, unfortunately they don't make this cradle anymore. You can still buy one that charges by plugging in a power cord, or a newer model with a docking station and an almost full touchscreen. However, I bought one of these and had issues with the touchscreen being exceptionally temperamental so I took it back and bought another.
