You'll need to fire the bowling ball (included) with some kind of airgun to get enough momentum to hit the pins. After some experimentation with a lacrosse ball and a field hockey ball, I settled on a field hockey ball (Brine Multi Turf). The field hockey ball has a smoother surface and is slightly larger and heavier. Cue Ball should also work pretty well, although I haven't tried it. The next question is to choose the right height for the arrangement of the "alley". A comfortable roll height can work better than, for example, pushing the ball towards the pins. Pushing a hockey puck with some force might be something else to try.
