Review on πŸ“Έ Capturing Crisp Planetary Images: Celestron NexImage 10MP Solar System Imager (93708) by Danny Thomas

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I have to say this is one of the worst stock cameras I've ever worked with.

Well. 2 stars might be a bit much but I gave it because it boots on every Windows platform since Vista. This is a big plus. I've tried booting all operating systems from Vista to Win 10 with no problems. But after spending 12 hours with it I have to say that this is one of the worst cameras I have ever worked with. Well to be fair I have to think the camera I received was defective. As it should be, Celestron would never release anything that bad. No matter what I tried, the picture was very noisy and extremely poor. I compared it to three other cameras I have. (5MP Orion Star Survey, 1.3MP Orion Solar System Imager and SBIG STV .3MP). All testing was done on an 80mm APO with a 0.5 focal reducer. I had high hopes that this camera would provide a little more detail in the views, but it wasn't to be. Finally I gave in and packed it up to send it back to Revane. With other reviews claiming their success, your mileage could be very high. Maybe I'll try again when the quality improves.
