Review on Fluance RT80 Vinyl Turntable Record Player | High Fidelity, Audio Technica AT91 Cartridge, Belt Drive, Built-in Preamp, Adjustable Counterweight | Solid Wood Plinth - Piano Black by Jonathan Arroyo

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A good entry-level turntable, but get the RT81 instead.

Good entry level turntable although I would go with the RT81 with a better cartridge. The built in preamp can be bypassed (and you will) and has RCA inputs so you can add better quality RCA cables. I recommend the Schiit Mani preamp to get the most out of this entry-level turntable. Mani is only $130 and outperforms preamps 10 times more expensive. Don't believe me, do some YT research and "listen" for yourself. Another benefit of this turntable is that you can adjust/fine tune the speed with a small screwdriver. Allows you to really hit that perfect RPM. The head is non-detachable (not great for some), but ideal for beginners who want to simplify cartridge upgrades. I switched to Rega shortly after receiving my RT80 but had a chance to play around with it a bit and was generally happy. If you're new to vinyl, you can do worse.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Nothing here
